Job Description
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver custom features & product integrations for CapitalStream’s FinanceCenter product.
  • Develop, extend, test, and maintain custom Java code within an enterprise framework.
  • Learn the fundamentals of the customer's business to comprehend requirements Understand requirements and provide accurate development estimates.
  • Partner with the business analysts during requirements definition stage, drive the technical solution during the design stages, develop complete modules of code during development stage, participate in testing during testing and deployment stage, and develop documentation as assigned throughout the product life cycle.
  • Maintain application code within existing change management structure. Analyze and correct application problems.
  • Provide technical expertise cohesively in a team environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Java and J2EE environments.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented languages and object-oriented design techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of coding techniques, best practices, and idioms.
  • Proven Software Development track record, preferably with a software development company.
  • Strong Knowledge of relational database technology from a development perspective.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer facing skills.
  • Solid documentation skills including the creation and maintenance of requirements definition and detailed design specifications, object model diagrams, and component and system level test plans supporting scripts.
  • Ability to work with existing architecture and product as well as ability to innovate and solve new technical and business problems.
  • Experience with MVC model development.
  • Experience with Oracle database development.
  • Experience developing and testing Java application (not applets) in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of Java IDE’s, XML, build tools (Ant, make, nmake), UNIX, NT scripting, relational databases, web technologies, and domain knowledge for developing informatics.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, including unit testing and rapid delivery.
  • Experience working in a multi-tier environment, capacity planning, and scalability strategies.
  • Experience with source code control systems (StarTeam, CVS, SourceSafe etc) and working as part of a development team.
Recommended Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience developing custom components in Java.
  • Experience developing and testing Java application (not applets) in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of Eclipse, XML, ANT, UNIX, NT scripting, relational databases, web technologies, and domain knowledge for developing informatics

Work Experience
4-7 years in a technical environment. Preferable that at least three of those years included heavy Java development. Education and Training 4 year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience.

The Professional Services organization assists customers in the deployment and configuration of CapitalStream’s FinanceCenter solution. Project Managers have direct responsibility for 1 or more customer implementation projects, leading a combined team of both Functional and Technical resources. The Project Manager must have a solid background in Project Management principles and possess a thorough understanding of all phases of an implementation project. The Project Manager will work to maximize customer satisfaction on each engagement while maintaining consulting profitability. The ability to travel is required.

Professional Responsibilities
  • Lead implementation teams in the deployment and configuration of solution; primary interface with customer including senior management.
  • Develop and demonstrate excellent product (software application) skills.
  • Develop and demonstrate expertise with the various components of the technical environment.
  • Responsible for maintaining personal chargeability and working with the Director to identify new engagement opportunities with clients. Assist the Director Manager with the scheduling of resources within the group.
  • Participate in pre-sales presentations, services planning, proposal response, proposal preparation, work planning development and implementation workshops.
  • Demonstrates effective use of staff and client personnel on projects, effectively delegating responsibility, addressing conflict and maintaining a high level of morale among consultants.
  • Coaches and mentors consultants reporting to them in the use of consulting methodologies.
  • Develops working knowledge of all aspects of engagement management, and fulfills the role of engagement manager when applicable.
  • Performs quarterly performance reviews for all consultants that were utilized during the performance review time frame.
  • Possess and continue to develop superb verbal and written communication skills.
  • Estimates and tracks budget and timeline.
Client Relationships
  • Focuses on customer satisfaction through professional quality service, promptly addressing customer issues, and follow-up resolution.
  • Is familiar with the scope and application of our consulting services, develops skills in identifying further consulting opportunities and directly assists with the process of marketing our services.
  • Generates client billings in a timely fashion and manages the collection activities for both product and consulting services.
  • Manages the transition of the client’s issues to the Account Manager at the end of the engagement.
  • Works with Account Manager on a continuing basis to address clients’ issues and concerns.
Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of enterprise project management experience; ideally 1 – 2 years experience in web-based systems implementations.
  • Experience with leading large-scale business process analysis (BPA) and business process reengineering projects.
  • Financial Services experience (Commercial, Mid-Market or Equipment Leasing) preferred.
  • Must be confident and capable of managing small to large project teams.
  • Self directed, confident, individual with effective communication and presentation skills required.
  • Experience with enterprise/internet implementations desirable.
  • BS/BA degree required, MBA a plus.
Able to travel 25% - 60%

Business Analysts are key members of the customer project team, and are responsible for providing the product and industry expertise needed to implement the FinanceCenter solution. Business Analysts participate in the overall implementation of the solution, from requirements gathering to business process review/enhancement to product configuration. As a key team member, the Business Analyst must have a solid understanding of implementation methodologies, excellent communication and project management skills. The Business Analyst will develop deep product skills and domain experience. The ability to travel is required.

Professional Responsibilities
  • Develop and demonstrate excellent product (software application) skills.
  • Develop and demonstrate excellent functional skills in areas affected by our applications (e.g., commercial lending, leasing, finance).
  • Lead implementation work-shops and training sessions.
  • Develop implementation requirements and specifications.

  • Ability to develop work plans, identify resource requirements, establish priorities for available resources and monitor the performance of project tasks.
  • Monitor individuals and team status. Provide timely status updates regarding work status, accomplishments and concerns to supervisors.
  • Possess accurate estimating skills for various project tasks. Ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and anticipate issues or conditions that may impact the original estimate or project budget.

General Description
Work involves assisting in the planning, sizing, scheduling, coordinating technical work with the other project staff, analyzing proposed computer applications, writing programs, and providing technical assistance to project staff. Perform complex computer programming work. This role requires considerable use of initiative and independent judgment. Some travel may be needed (up to 20%).

Main functions of the job:
  • Participates in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including but not limited to capturing requirements, writing, testing, and debugging programs.
  • Coordination, build out, and maintenance of software on several application servers and web sites.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of quality custom software.
  • Responsible for design and implementation of custom software.
  • Technical leadership for project team in developing solutions to software-related problems.
  • Assists in developing standards and procedures for programming staff.
  • Prepares computer block diagrams and machine logic flowcharts for detailed coding of problems and provides for the documentation of programming work.
  • Verifies program logic by preparing and using test data.
  • Develops and implements specialized programs and/or routines to supplement and enhance systems software.
  • Evaluates and modifies existing applications and systems programs to take into account changes in system requirements, software releases, or equipment configuration.
  • Performs any other related work as assigned.
  • Work closely with other team to resolve customer issues quickly.

Required Technical Skills

General Qualification Guidelines

A degree with major course work in data processing, computer science, or a related field is generally preferred. At least five years experience in computer programming work including the areas listed above.
